My Rendang Style

Tingat rendang, misti tingat raya, tapi tidak lagi.. nowadays u can get rendang anytime of the days you want. No more specialties like before. People just simply cook it at home, or kalo malas, pi je memane kedai kompom jual. Have to say, rendang is such a delicious traditional food that we have, and so proud we have it as one of our 'royalty' food.

The traditional way, rendang usually dimasak berjam2 lamanya - to make sure daging die btol2 empuk atau - sampai daging die telerai. Hmmm.. rasa die memang le tip top tak kire le ape pesen ape style pon. Teringat2 rendang zaman kekecik dolo, adoyai mmg nangis kalo kene. Nowadays.. emm.. kalau nak makan pi je kedai , tapi kene la pandai pilih2 tempat. Untung sabut sedap, untung batu muntah. hehe

Okay, now that I found a way how to make rendang the easier way but tasty (definitely!), I like to share it with uolls. Tak byk ragam, dan tak payah lelame. Semua campak dalam lepas tu taraaa!! jadi dah.. Enjoice!

How to do it?

  • Blend cili padi (depends on your like) + cili merah (cili yg besau tu, bukan cili padi kaler merah) + onion + garlic and ginger
  • Daging di potong nipis2 dan lebar2 ( cari le daging yg cepat empuk)
  • Daun kunyit dipotong halus2
  • Daun limau purut
  • 1 tbs brown sugar
  • Lengkuas di potong nipis2 dan lebar2
  • Panaskan kuali dan masukkan semua di atas, gaulkan sebati
  • Masukkan serai dan garam. Masakkan sampai daging empuk.
  • Bila daging dah empuk, tambahkan santan dan air asam jawa, kemudian masak lagi sampai kuah jadi pekat
Sedap dihidang dengan nasi impit atau nasi atau pulut.
